My heart is heavy and hurting, but I know I am blessed to have such a Best Friend Forever since 1956, Vicki Mohler Runda. We shared everything. My sister Sharon says she was like one of our family and I felt like one of hers. So very many wonderful memories, unlike I've ever shared with anyone else. Our walks home from school in the early years, sleep-overs, Camp Whitley, most wonderful band trips (we always wanted to be on Mr.Wiley's bus, we even dared to skip school one high school day our 1 and only attempt. We waived our ride to school with precious friend Nancy Montz, and settled in to fix a nice breakfast for ourselves. Then to our horror, we heard a toilet flush?? We were sure we were the only ones home at Vicki's?? Lo and behold dad, Elmer, had the day off from work, Veteran's Day, from his post office job! What a shock! We got dressed for school and made it there before our first period class, Band, was over! Lesson well-learned. I will miss her for ever!
Mike, Laura, Tim, Carly, Nathan and families and Jill and family...my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. I pray that each day will bring a little more healing into your hearts. Vicki was my loyal friend for more than 65 years. I hold her in my heart and memory.
May the Source of peace send peace to all who mourn the passing of a dear lady and steadfast friend. Vicki was a blessing to all who knew her, and may her gentle soul now be at peace. Her memory will be a blessing to her family and friends. Our love to Mike and family.
