Condolence: I worked with Ginger at Charter Beacon Hospital when many of us were getting married and starting our families. While I don't think I ever met Orlando I could always tell from the way Ginger spoke about him that he was a "Good Guy". I can see from the other messages that this is confirmed over and over by those who knew him personally. While I have lived out of state for several years this news was just as tragic. My thoughts and prayers from miles away go out to Ginger and her family.

Condolence: I went to Bishop Luers with Orlando and graduated with him in 1977. He was a kind and gentle man who always had a smile for everyone no matter what group you were in. This was huge for an insecure teenager. I will always remember Orlando with a smile. My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Orlando Fernandez.

Condolence: Put simply Orlando was one of the good guys. He had a heart of gold and it only took a couple minutes in his presence to understand his wife, children and most recently grandchild were his #1 focus each day. We worked together for the last three years and I came quickly to regard him as a good friend. He and I were regular lunch buddies and he made each day a better day. Rest peacefully my friend.

Condolence: As a fellow classmate from BLHS I remember Orlando to be the friendliest, happiest guy. He was very genuine and although we hadn't seen each other for years he was one person I couldn't forget. My prayers to Orlando's family & friends.

Condolence: Orlando and I attended Bishop Luers together graduating with the class of 1977. Such fond memories of a very special person growing together during our formative years, even then O was the most approachable, open and easy to talk with individual I have met.
Please know that my family is praying for your family during this difficult time and O's memory is special.
There is no doubt that O is a citizen of heaven.
A sovereign God allows persecution and trials to help us grow in our character to be more like Christ. And it also shows the true sinful character of a fallen humanity and world. It helps us have the right perspective that heaven with Him is going to be awesome. (ROM 5:1-5)

Condolence: I went to Luers with Orlando. He was in the group of guys that my group of girls hung out with. In the fall after graduation, O and I hung out, just us. Seemed we were the only two still in town and we were trying to figure out what to do with our lives. He was one of the easiest people to talk to that I ever met. We would walk to the park so I could have a cigarette and he would lecture me about it.
I had briefly dated a guy for the “ group” , but fell for a guy from Dwenger. So our 1:1 only lasted that fall. But I’ve always remembered how much I enjoyed our talks.
On another note, we know the Grimmers from their years at St Jude’s. Our kids were great friends. And I never knew she was Orlando’s sister.
I am so sorry for all of your loss. Lifting you in prayer today, and esp tomorrow.
Know Gods peace,
Teresa Schaab Hartman
