Obituary for Norman Hartmann

Norman Hartmann, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away May 12, 2017. Born in Quincy Illinois, he was the son of Reverend Walter and Hilda Hartmann.
Norman was a veteran of the United States Navy. In his early years he was a cabinetmaker in his own business. He later retired from Zollners where he served as the company a carpenter. Norm enjoyed helping his family, his service to his church (Holy Cross Lutheran in Ft Wayne), wood working, gardening and other outdoor activities such as snow skiing and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hartmann of Fort Wayne, a daughter, Linda Jean (Richard) Hines of Lafayette, IN and three sons, Craig Hartmann, Chicago, Ill, Gary Neil (Linda) Hartmann, Fort Wayne, IN , Daniel Hartmann of Philadelphia, PA; as well as one brother, Dale Hartmann, Orange City, California, one sister, Eleanor Schipporeit, Ainsworth, Nebraska, three step-sons Charles (Cheryl) Taylor, Thomas (Diane) Taylor, Joe (Nancy) Taylor, two step-daughters, Kim Driscoll and Tonya (Jeffrey) Williams, two grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great grandchildren.
His parents; his first wife Carleen Hartmann, his second wife Maxine Hartmann and one brother Harold Hartmann preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 11:00 a. m. with one hour of calling prior to services at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 3425 Crescent Ave Ft. Wayne, IN, calling hours will be Tuesday May 16, 2017 from 4 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton St. Memorial contributions to Holy Cross School or Holy Cross Shut Ins Burial at Concordia Gardens Cemetery.
