Obituary for Frank Michael "Mike" Brugger

Frank Michael "Mike"  Brugger
F. Michael (Mike) Brugger passed away peacefully Thursday, July 20, 2017, surrounded by family. Born on July 8, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN, to Frank and Silvia Brugger, Mike attended Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, WI, Ligonier Valley High School in Pennsylvania, the University of Notre Dame (IN), and St. Francis University (Pennsylvania), where he met his loving wife of 52 years, Peggy McCarthy Brugger.

Mike began his career in sales with the Calgon Industrial Division of Merck and was later a distributor of carbide cutting tools and industrial coolants. His career took him to St. Louis, MO; Long Island, NY; Harrisburg, PA; Reading, PA; Rochester, NY; and Tulsa, OK, before settling in Fort Wayne in 1999.

He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Mary Elizabeth Dolin and Tony Brugger. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Fort Wayne; children, Shari (Rick) Rivera and Justin Brugger (Rebecca Beeckman) of Fort Wayne, and Melissa (Dan) Purdy of Allen, TX; and grandchildren Dan (Emma) Herber, Caleb Herber, and Kara Purdy of Fort Wayne, Joshua (Taylor) Herber and Tessa Rivera of Cleveland, OH, and Jenna Purdy of Allen, TX.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 25, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road. Calling one our prior. Viewing 5 – 7 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton.
