Obituary for Daniel Purvis

Daniel  Purvis
Daniel Purvis Sr, 94, passed away on April 11, 2018 in Northwood Village Fort Wayne.
Born in New Haven, IN He was the son of Harry and Dessie (Stabler) Purvis, they preceded him in death.

He graduated from Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic in the Pacific Theater in WWII. He owned and operated Dan Purvis Drugs in New Haven for many years.

He was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Association, the National Association of Retail Druggists, charter member of New Haven Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of American Legion Post 330, New Haven, IN.

He is survived by his three sons; Daniel (Cynthia) Purvis, Jr., John (Carla) Purvis and David Purvis, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was married to Ruth Price Purvis for 52 years until her death in 1997. His second wife, Betty Kumming Purvis, brothers Harry Purvis and Charles Purvis and his sister Kathleen Wherry preceded him in death.

Calling hours will take place Monday, May 7th, 2018 at FairHaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton St. from 4:00 p.m-7:00 p.m. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Concordia Gardens Cemetery 5300 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Central Lutheran School, New Haven or Parkview Hospice.
