Betty Jane Lazzer, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, November 2, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Betty was the daughter of the late Paul and Nellie Reinkensmeier. Betty graduated proudly from South Side High School. She worked for Lincoln Life for 15 years prior to her retirement in 1985. Betty volunteered for many years at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo and the Historical Society. She was famous to many for her thousands of Christmas Cookies she would bake and distribute each year. Betty was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family especially her granddaughters. Surviving are her sons, David (Millie) Lazzer, Mark (Kim) Lazzer; granddaughters, Rachel (Jeff) Jones, Kati Lazzer; great-granddaughters, Kennedy and Alexandra Jones. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; siblings, Paul and Robert Reinkensmeier, and her grand dog, Jimmy Bassett. Service is 1 pm, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with calling from 11 am until the service, Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
