William “Bill” Shanebrook, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 21, 2020. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bill was the son of the late Lorenz and Emma Gray. He was adopted by his grandparents, William and Serena Shanebrook. Bill graduated from Woodburn High School where he met his wife Sandra (Roemke) Shanebrook. Bill was a farmer, and worked also at BF Goodrich, but most of his working career was spent driving a gas truck for the Allen County CO-OP. He was an avid member of Promise Ministries where he enjoyed mowing the lawn weekly. Bill was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He helped his daughter, Cheri coach the Heritage Girls Basketball Team to the Final Four in 1978. He had a loving and funny personality and it came out in the stories he told to others. He loved his family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Sandra Shanebrook; children, Cheri (Dave) Gilbert, Kerry (Rose) Shanebrook, Jamie (Dennis) Powell, Todd (Beth) Shanebrook; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Service is 11 am, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Promise Ministries, 7323 Schwartz Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Monday, February 24, 2020 at the church from 2 pm to 4 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. Burial in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Woodburn, Indiana.
