William “Bill” J. Perse, 84, of Fort Wayne Ind., passed away on Wednesday May 24th, 2023 at his home. Bill was born in Fort Wayne to the late Wilbur and Evelyn Perse. He was a 1956 graduate of Central High School and was active with the alumni. He had a career that lasted 27 years with North American Van Lines, retiring in 1999. Bill was an avid IU basketball fan, but he loved all sports and he enjoyed golfing. He was also active in the Rose Lake Association in Michigan.
Bill is survived by his wife, Wauneta; daughter, Pat (Tim) Starke of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Sarah (Josh Goss) Starke of Massachusetts, their children, Elliot, Miles, and Zoe Goss; granddaughter, Stephanie (Andrew) Remenschneider of Chicago, their daughter, Sophie Remenschneider; sisters, Kathy Gower, Diane Brant, and Anne Beasley all of Ohio; brothers, Robert Lehman of South Carolina, and Jack Lehman of Florida.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, Brian Perse; sisters, Janet Gottfried, and Marlene Fraley.
Private graveside services will be held at Eel River Cemetery at a later date. Preferred memorials may be directed to St John’s Lutheran Church (Lake Twp) 7914 W. Cook Rd.
