Obituary for William H. "Bill" Goodwin

William “Bill” H. Goodwin, age 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 from cardiac complications. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Connie, two daughters Christy Hire (John) and Becky Skurner (Jack), 4 grandchildren Rachel Hesher (Evan), Ben Skurner and Erin and Derek Neuhaus. Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a hardworking, smart, fun loving man who adored his family and never knew a stranger. He has been described as a “Powerhouse” who would do anything for anybody at any time. He loved spending time with his family. He had so many hobbies throughout his lifetime and threw himself 150% into each hobby of his wife, kids and grandkids. He loved owning and showing horses, riding motorcycles, an old, convertible classic car, piloting a plane, boating and vacations. He and his wife had a large cabin cruiser on Lake Erie for 25 years and he became an expert captain in their cruising club. He was multi-talented and passionate with everything he did. He owned many different businesses over the years and delivered travel trailers to Canada and all over the United States. His business mind was constantly working to help people. He even worked with local businesses to raise money for local charities.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:30 am with visitation one hour prior at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). Visitation will also be on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Leo Memorial Cemetery.
