William H. Berry, 84, passed away July 5, 2018. A Ft Wayne native, he was born to George and Matilda (Frantz) Berry. Marrying his beautiful bride Rosemary Lude in 1952, the couple raised three children. He was a tool maker by trade (Zollner Corp, 15 yrs) then small business owner. A committed husband and father, his greatest satisfaction came from providing and caring for his family. He lived simply and preached thrift, teaching that happiness and contentment came not from material things but freedom and knowing oneself. His honest, diligent work ethic also set boundaries on materialism in order to live an unencumbered life. He treasured family time, especially adventurous annual cross country camping trips. Known for his quick wit, eagle eye and listening ear, his unique traits endeared him to many. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by daughters Deb (Steve) Alles of Ft Wayne, Vicki (Max) Westrich of Madison, WI, son Benjamin (Michelle) Berry of Ft Wayne; grandson, Jonah Westrich of Madison WI; and sister Estella Fett of Cedar Lake, IN. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosemary Berry, his parents, sister Delores Handley, brothers George, James, and Richard. A memorial service will be held Saturday August 4, 2018 at 3:00 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St. Ft Wayne, with calling 1 to 3 pm. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials may be made to Michael J.
