Starkey Ganster Hoot, 100, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1921, Starkey was the son of the late Ralph and Florence Hoot. He served us proudly in the Army Air Corp (8th Air Force) during WWII in England. Starkey studied industrial design at the Cleveland Art School (now the Cleveland Institute of Art) and was an automotive designer for Hudson Motor Co, Ford, Chrysler, and International Harvester/Navistar. Starkey enjoyed golfing, playing racketball, tennis, drawing, and traveling with his wife. He was a dedicated and loving Father. He loved people and people loved him. He had an amazing life and lived his life to the fullest. Surviving are his children, Lisa (Mike Rose) Curry, Christopher Hoot, Robin (Laura) Hoot; and grandson, David (Siearah) Curry; great-granddaughter, Camryn Curry. Memorial Calling is Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 4 pm to 6 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, Starkey was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Francis Maxine Hoot; Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors. FairHaven Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
