Obituary for Stacy Ellen Kaplan (Folk)

Stacy Ellen Kaplan, 52, of Fort Wayne, IN, and Marco Island, FL, passed from this life to be with Jesus on August 27th, 2023. She left us after an extended illness she faced with great strength and courage.

She loved her husband, Mark, president of R. A. Kaplan Inc.; her son, Nicholas, a Ph.D. student at the University of Washington; her daughter, Amanda, a junior in high school; and many family members and friends. She graduated from Purdue University in Fort Wayne with a degree in business, which she used to help her husband in his company. She was both a mother and teacher to her children, whom she loved very much, and planted the love of Jesus. Her favorite place was on the beach on Marco Island, which provided relief for her during her illness.

She is survived by her children and her husband, Mark, with whom she had recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by her parents, Jack and Joyce Folk; her sister, Alyssa (Derek) Chirch; her parents-in-law, Robert and Norma Kaplan; her sisters-in-law, Kathy (George) Koultourides, Debbie (Brad) Beck, Linda (Lennie) Shank and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She enjoyed organizing and decorating her home, homeschooling her children, and caring for her family. She loved her golden retrievers, Hallmark movies, and celebrating Christmas. She enjoyed photography and scrapbooking to keep her memories. She had a strong faith in the Lord, had a passionate love for the Bible, and respected and rallied for life. She has “fought the good fight and finished the race and has remained faithful.” - 2 Timothy 4:7. She will be greatly missed, but we will see her again soon.

Visiting hours will be Friday, September 8th, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. all at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St. in Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Scleroderma Foundation (scleroderma.org).
