Obituary for Sherry L. Lotter (Miller)
Sherry Miller Lotter, age 76, of Fort Wayne left this earth on July 16, 2022. A daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Sherry’s life was dedicated to her family and making others feel happy and comfortable.
Sherry, was born January 11, 1946 in Marion, IN, the eldest child of Lewis and Dorothy Miller, graduated from Marion High School in 1963.
Sherry’s mother set up her daughter on not one, but two blind dates with the man who would become
her soul mate, partner, and best friend. She married Gary Allen Lotter on September 7, 1964. They
started their family by welcoming their son, Marc Lotter, in 1969 and daughter, Andrea (Lotter) Crilly, in
1970.
Family was always the top priority to Sherry, who chose to stay at home while raising the couple’s two
children. For a short time, while her children were teenagers, she started working part-time during lunch
at a fast-food restaurant near the family’s home but resigned because she couldn’t bear not being there
in case they needed her. Following the children’s high school graduation, she worked for many years at
Remax Results in Fort Wayne.
Sherry always had a knack for knowing exactly what to say or do to make other people smile, laugh, and
feel at ease. She always put the needs of others first in her life. She loved music and dancing and won
many local dance contests in her youth.
Sherry Lotter is survived by her husband Gary, son Marc (Nicole Beckman) Lotter of Washington, DC,
daughter Andrea (James) Crilly of Fort Wayne, grandchildren Spencer (Kelsey Hartig) Crilly, Mackenzie
(Brendan) Baldwin, Kelsey Crilly, and Cobrin Crilly, great-grandchildren Lilly Baldwin and Jacen Crilly. She
is also survived by her sister Vicki Luoma, brothers Lewis (Tamara Abdon) Miller and Chris (Janie
Hamilton) Miller, brother-in-law Dr. John E. Conley II (Luanne Phariss), and many nieces and nephews
who fondly remember their favorite aunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jerry Lotter, brothers-in-law Jerry Lotter and Milton
Luoma, father-in-law Dr. John E. Conley, and mother-in-law Betty F. Conley.
Service is 10:30 am, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 6600 Trier Rd., with calling one hour prior.
