Roger Charles Berghs, age 84, of Fort Wayne passed away Thursday, May 19th, 2022. He was born in his beloved Chicago, IL to the late Charles and Mary Berghs. Roger spent most of his life working for Med-Pro and served as Vice President in the Legal Department where he made many friends. After retirement, he worked at Cherry Hill Golf Course. Roger was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served his country as a member of the US Army National Guard and US Air Force where he served as Infantry Squad Leader and a finance clerk. He had the best sense of humor, loved his happy-hour drink while sitting outside, watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Roger is survived by his wife, and soulmate of 39 years, Karen Berghs, their loved remained strong through every challenge and health issue. Also, surviving are his children, Sally (Bill) Nix, Jennifer (Phil) Huizing both of Fort Wayne, and Matthew (Jessica) Berghs of Oakland, CA; 5 grandchildren, Katelyn, Cory, Erin, Cayla, and Ryan; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Fagg; brother, Richard Berghs; and his dog, Hudson. Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.
