Robert “Bob” Uptgraft, 92, passed away on December 8, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on November 5, 1929, he was a son of the late Milo and Ruth (Zimmerman) Uptgraft. He attended Elmhurst High School. In 1950 he married Gloriadell “Gloria” Perry and they shared 71 years of marriage together. She preceded him in death five weeks ago. He was a proud Korean War Army veteran. He retired from GTE after 40 years of service. He loved fishing and making birdhouses. Family was everything to him and he was so very proud of his kids and grandkids. He loved to try and find a connection with any new person he met. He will be dearly missed by his children, Becky Peterson; Mike (Patty) Uptgraft and Sandy (Janice Forst) Uptgraft; grandchildren, Mark (Sue) Peterson, Chris Peterson, Stephanie (Ben) Neff; Jennifer (Luke) Shappell, Tracy (Nate) Zimmerman; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Detter; two son-in-laws, David Peterson, Gary Detter; siblings, William A Uptgraft; Alice M Huffman; Richard L Uptgraft. Service is 11 am, Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
