Your family has our deepest sympathy! We have such good memories of our friendship with Gene & Marie at Immanuel Baptist Church and Blackhawk Ministries. It has been many years since we have been together, but Gene's warm personality and great smile still warms our heart. Gene will definitely be missed! We will look forward to being together in heaven someday!

John 16:22 - So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.

Dear Phipps Family,
Memories come to my heart vividly of your dad when I think of how much he enjoyed teaching line dancing. I was friends with your family at Immanuel Baptist Church in Fort Wayne. Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of Gene, and am joyful in my heart, as you are, at the prospect that we will all be together one day. Numbers 6: 24-26 “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you.

I was deeply saddened to hear and read this news. I bought my current home from two of the most friendly, kind and loving people I have ever met, Gene and Marie. "The house with the pretty white flowers" There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of the two of you as I begin the twentieth year of owning my home. I can't sit in my great room without thinking of Gene while remembering the story of how that room was constructed and who actually did the work. It remains the favorite room in the house for myself and all who visit. While I don't attend Blackhawk Ministries anymore, I will never forget all of the warm friendly greetings and hugs I received for years after becoming friends after I purchased your home. My children and I have many memories made here and loving thoughts will remain for as long as I do. We are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time Marie. May God continue to give you strength. Jon S. Rundquist
