Obituary for Richard E. Renbarger

Richard E. Renbarger, 88, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Richard was a son of the late Moine and Lillian Renbarger. Richard served our community as a Fort Wayne Police Officer for 31 years, prior to his retirement in 1988. Richard also served our country as a proud Marine Corp veteran, serving for 27 years, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. Richard was a life time member of: Marine Corps League, Military Order of the Devil Dogs, Sea Going Marine Association, USS Helena Ships Association, Fraternal Order of Police #14, Navy Club Ship-48, American Legion Post #82, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #857, and Korean War Veterans Association #1. He also served as past director of Police Athletic League, Past Officer in the Allen County Council of Veteran’s Organization, and was a member of Praise Lutheran Church. Surviving are his children, Rodney Renbarger, Rebecca Bogner, Eric (Kelly) Renbarger, Bryan (Christine) Renbarger; many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Marilyn Renbarger. Service is noon, Monday, January 31, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 10 am until the service. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Korean Memorial Association, Marine Corps League or Fraternal Order of Police.
