Folks at Dekko loved working with him and as it turns out we were both Magnavox "babies, from Champaign, IL and moved to Ft. Wayne and both went to Snider. I went to him a lot for musical input, and we loved to kid around. I spoke with him a few days before he passed, and he was in bad pain and it seemed the meds were not sufficient to make him comfortable. So I bet he is playing some Allman Brothers right now upstairs, and telling me how wrong I am about a few groups we disagreed about.

Our sincere heartbreak and sympathy for you and your family. Our hearts are broken as well. I had the pleasure of being the Bass Player in most of the bands mentioned. I have known Rich for over 40 years and have always considered him one of my best friends. There are more fond memories and stories than can be posted here. Rich was certainly one of a kind, and one of the best guitarist I have ever known. He was always a wonderful and caring person. And of course...His humor is legendary !!!

He will always be loved, remembered and missed. Rock on my friend.

I have many great memories of our time together, as co-workers and friends, at Magnavox. So sad to hear of Dick's passing. "He will wipe every tear from their eyes." Revelation 21:4 Gary Nahrwold
