Obituary for Dr. Rene Francis C. Dilag

Dr. Rene Francis C. Dilag, “Francis” to his family and friends, age 42, of Fort Wayne, IN, suddenly passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born in Manila, Philippines to Renato and Norma Dilag, who survive. Francis worked as a Physician with Parkview Regional Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Sheryl Ann A. Dimayuga, of Fort Wayne, IN; children Samuel Phillip and Calista Felise; and siblings, Raymond Anthony and Regina Marie, and his nieces and nephews.

Francis was born on January 10, 1980. A cherished and beloved son and a doting uncle to his nieces and nephews. He had a close and special bond with his parents and siblings.

Francis eventually moved to the United States of America after he married Sheryl in 2012. On November 21, 2013 and December 11, 2018, he welcomed his two wonderful kids, who were the most important part of his life. Francis eventually finished Internal Medicine Residency in Harlem Hospital Center, New York in 2019. The whole family settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana in July 2019.

Francis was a devoted husband and partner to Sheryl in raising their two children with love, patience, and humility. He passed his love for cars to his only son and love for life and humor to his beautiful daughter. He enjoyed road trips, traveling to new places, exploring different cuisines and restaurants, and was an avid car enthusiast. Despite his very busy schedule as a physician, Francis never faltered investing time with his family - going on big trips and vacations or even spending a day of quality family time with them at home.

Francis was a dreamer who silently worked hard to achieve his goals. He was a dedicated physician, who took great care of all of his patients, with utmost compassion and respect. He was kind, selfless, thoughtful, approachable, caring, and possessed one of the biggest hearts! He was always ready to answer any questions, any time of the day and even in the middle of the night. He even followed up with them days later to check how they are doing.

He was a selfless man with a kind heart, who always thinks of others first before himself. He has a gentle spirit and a humble heart, who loved each and everyone unselfishly. A treasured and dear friend, he has left an indelible mark in his relationships with his family, friends, and colleagues.

His time on earth may have been short, but his countless interactions will definitely leave a lasting impression on the lives of the people he has touched.

Francis will be dearly missed, but his memories and love will linger in our hearts forever.
