Obituary for Raymond Daily

Raymond Ellis Daily, age 69, of Lawtey, FL passed away on March 2, 2022 at UF Shand’s in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to Dean Allen Daily and the late Jacquelyn Richhart Daily. Ray was raised in Leo Indiana and graduated from Leo High School in 1971. In 1982 Ray relocated to Florida for work opportunities, and to escape the cold snowy winters in Indiana. He first resided in Middleburg, FL until he made Lawtey his forever home over 30 years ago. On November 24, 2001, Ray married the love of his life Lisa Rogers Daily, and together they have spent 20 wonderful years. Ray was a longtime estimator in the construction industry where he worked for many years before retiring. He was an excellent card player and was always ready for a game of Spades or Euchre. Ray was an architect and was always looking for new ways to improve their home. He was a lover of vintage cars, archaeology, Egyptology, and paleontology. Ray was a simple man who loved his friends and family dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Ray is survived by his father Dean Daily of Butler, IN; wife, Lisa Daily of Lawtey, FL; sister, Barbara (Brian) Eager of Harland, IN; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Celebration of Ray’s Life will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at 7:00 pm at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jim Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donation to the Bradford County Animal Shelter (904)-964-9200 16946 SW 75th Ave Starke, FL 32091. Additionally, there will be a graveside Service on March 22, 2022 at 3:00 PM a Scipio Cemetery in Harlon, IN. Fellowship will follow the service at North Scipio United Methodist Church.
