Obituary for Raymond L. Conn

Raymond L. “Ray” Conn, 94, went to be with his heavenly father on January 17, 2023. He was born November 19, 1928 in Muncie, IN to the late Rev. Clifford and Pirly (Lewis) Conn. Ray was Valedictorian of his High School class and graduated from I.U. Bloomington with a degree in business. The Delaware County native was an accountant, real estate broker, business owner, and transportation manager retiring in 1998. Ray served during the Korean War and was a Captain in the U.S.A.F. Reserves. He was a faithful member of both Crescent Avenue and Covenant United Methodist Church. Ray was active in Big Brothers and the Real Men Read program and was passionate about giving blood, donating over 200 pints. He enjoyed traveling with two trips to Europe and visiting ten countries. Ray also liked being in the air learning to fly small planes, ultralights, and skydiving. He is survived by his children, Tami Frey of Hudson, IN., Merrilee Kapsi of Kennewick, WA., and Matthew (Tamatha) Conn of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Joan (Striker) Conn and then his wife of 5 years, Arlene Bergin Chapman Hankee Conn. Funeral Service is 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Covenant United Methodist Church 10001 Coldwater Road with calling one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm -7:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton St. Entombment in the Court of St. Paul Mausoleum in Covington Memorial Gardens.
