Obituary for Philip James Lohse

Philip “Flip” Lohse, 68, of Lake James, passed away on Tuesday April 11th 2023 in Fort Wayne.
Flip was born in Kalamazoo, MI to the late George and Grace Lohse. He was a proud graduate of Michigan State University where he majored in Lawn and Turf Management. After graduation he moved to New Jersey, where he met his wife to be, Lisa. They relocated to Lockport, IL where they lived for 32 years. Flip and Lisa finally settled in at Lake James. Flip retired from TruGreen Lawn Care in 2011 after 32 years of service. He loved his family and friends, fishing, cards, and long trips around the lake on his pontoon. Flip was known for his beautiful lawn and meticulous edges. His spontaneous laugh delighted everyone and will be dearly missed by all. He was a member of Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes in Angola.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Lohse; sister, Margaret “McGee” Lopshire; brother, George “Marty” Lohse; nieces and nephews, Courtney “Cory” (Barb) Lopshire, Kyle “K.C.” (Casey) Lopshire, and Ariana Lohse; Great nephews, Cole Lopshire and William Lopshire. Flip was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Douglas Lopshire.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 17th at the Presbyterian Chapel of the Lakes, 2955 Orland Rd., Angola IN 46703.
There will be a visitation from 9:30-11:00 am, with a service to follow.
