Obituary for Owen Lane Roughia

Owen Lane Roughia, 14, left this earth too early on Friday, May 13, 2022. He lived in Fort Wayne his entire life with his family, born to William Roughia, Jr. and Julie (Oldfather) Roughia on January 8, 2008. Owen was a student at Harlan Christian School and was involved in their basketball and soccer programs. Owen was ornery, mischievous and loving, always making friends easily. He loved to laugh, play Fortnite, and listen to music. Some of his favorite times were spent fishing, being at his family’s farm and playing basketball at the YMCA with friends. Owen gave the best hugs and lit up every room he entered. Surviving are his parents, William Roughia, Jr., Julie Roughia; step-mother, Abby Roughia; brother, Ian Roughia; step-siblings, Maggy and Wayne Houtz; grandparents, Marletta Oldfather; William Roughia, Sr., Gale Snow; great-grandmother, Bea Perrin; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; along with his dog Maui. Owen was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ted Oldfather; and cousin, Autumn Oldfather. Service is 11 am, Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Rd, with viewing one hour prior. Viewing prior on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Pathway Community Church from 4 pm to 6 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. Burial to take place at Huntertown Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana or Parkview YMCA. Owen’s family wishes to thank all who loved Owen and had an impact on his adventurous life.
