Obituary for Neil Franklin Shultz

Neil Franklin Shultz, 89, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022. Born near Brimfield, Indiana, Neil was a son of the late Schuyler and Ethel Shultz. Neil served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked 23 years at International Harvester, and 10 years at Pepsi. Later in his career, he owned and operated Trinity Signs and Mansfield Material Handling. Neil was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan…win or lose. To Neil, faith in Christ and time invested with family were most important. He exemplified his care for family through spending time, teaching us how to do things, telling stories, and playing games. Surviving are his children, David (Cyndi), Cheryl (Doug) Keim, Mark (Kim), and Doug; seven grandchildren, Joshua (Brenda), Elizabeth (Luke), Nicholas (Molly), Matthew (Ali), Kristen (Jacob), Zachary (Emily) and Kara; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Lola Wood and in-laws, Dave & Judy Gillette, Tom & Marie Mounsey, Miriam Goodhew, Herb & Alice Zuercher, Jack & Rauline Morris. Neil was preceded in death by his loving wife Delores Shultz in 2015; brothers Richard and Kenneth; and sister Sandra Brandon. A celebration of Neil’s life will be Saturday, September 3rd at 2:00PM with visitation one hour before. The celebration will be held at Avalon Missionary Church, 1212 L. Huntington Rd. Memorials can be made to the Avalon Missionary Church building fund or food pantry, or ProMedica Hospice.
