Obituary for Miriam Elaine Robbins (Royer)

Miriam (Mim) Robbins, 83 years old, surrounded by her family, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 29th, 2019. Mim was born in Carlisle, PA and, while attending Manchester College, Manchester, IN met the love of her life and was married to Dr. James (Jim) Robbins for 63 years. Mim was the proud mother of 3, Grandma to 10 and Great-grandma to 5. Dawn (Dan) Hoffman and David, Amy, & Matt (Abby) Hoffman, Dr. James C. “Rob” (Jeana) Robbins and Jessica Stevens, Jordan (Josh) Winningham, Janiece (Fernando) Zapari, Jacob Robbins, and Suze (Kelly) Fair and Ben, Katie, & Mackenzie Fair. Mim was deeply committed to her faith and over the years served the Church through music, visitation ministry, volunteering at the food bank, and a variety of other ministries. Mim felt the world was a better place if hungry people were fed, sick people were not alone, and under-resourced didn’t go “without.” For decades, she did her part in many ways. Her family and friends were profoundly changed by her love of beauty, her hymn singing, her ability to celebrate their victories and losses, her smile and her competitive nature when it came to game playing. The family would like to thank the team at Parkview Cardiology as well as the excellent team of caregivers at Heritage Pointe Fort Wayne, as well as the generous care of the folks at Heartland Home Healthcare and Hospice. Mim was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, as well as her 4 siblings. Service is 6:00 pm on Sunday July 7, 2019 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Rd, with calling one-hour prior. Calling also Saturday, July 6, 2019 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Private graveside services will be held at English Prairie Cemetery of Brighton, IN.
Memorials can be made in Mim’s honor to UMCOR’s Clean Water initiative around the world. www.advance.umcor.com
