Obituary for Marilyn Marie McQueary (Dailey)

Marilyn Marie McQueary, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024. Marilyn was born on February 14th, 1947, (a Valentines Day baby), in Logansport, Indiana. She was born to the late Rita M. and Louis A. Dailey. Marilyn graduated from Logansport High School in 1965. She then attended for one year at International Business College. Marilyn worked for Wrights Beauty College from 1993 to 1998 as a Financial Aid Director and that is where she met her husband, Sidney “Sid” A. McQueary. Marilyn and Sid were married on August 31, 1996. In 1998, Marilyn started working for Ravenscroft Beauty College as the Financial Aid Director. In 2004, Sid and Marilyn became the owners of Ravenscroft Beauty College, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Marilyn loved to spend time with her grandchildren, to cook, shop and work at Ravenscroft Beauty College, never retiring. Her family, staff, and students were very special to her, and she loved talking and being with them. Marilyn was a strong woman with an “Irish temper,” never taking no for an answer. She had a sense of humor, was kind and generous. Marilyn was a girlie girl, always dressing and looking her best. She never knew a stranger and anywhere she would go, someone would know her from Ravenscroft Beauty College.
Marilyn should have written a book about her life stories; it would most likely have been a bestseller.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Louis “Bud” (Kristina) Dailey; stepdaughters, Dana Scruggs, Cidnee (David) Ward, Duskee McQueary; stepson, Allen (Ashley) McQueary; grandchildren who she thought the world of, Leslie, Elaina, Alex, Chloe, Colton, Kyran, Kylie and Noah; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and her Ravenscroft Beauty College family. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Jo Graham and brother, Danny Joe Dailey.

Funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825) at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the funeral home from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park in Logansport, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to Erin’s House for Grieving Children.
