Lois Walsh, age 101, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022. She was born February 10,1921 in Jamestown, ND, the fourth of five children born to the late Charles Elliott Andre and Lulu Wood Andre. Lois graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in early childhood development. She worked as a teacher during WWII in the Kaiser Shipyards of Portland, OR and later at First Presbyterian Church of Fort Wayne. Lois was active in scouting with her children, was a member of "Settlers" and volunteered at St. Joseph Hospital as a librarian. She had a real appreciation for music playing clarinet in her high school band and later singing in "Northern Notes" and her church choir. In 1943, she married Francis Walsh and they celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2007 at the age of 94. Lois is survived by her three children, Mike (Casi Bromelmeier) Walsh, Susan (Doug) Berndt, and Kevin (Cindy) Walsh; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Service is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling two hours prior beginning at 11:00 am.
