Dear Aaron and Erick, I hope that both of you know just how proud your Mom was of you. She was not proud in a boastful way as that would not be in her character, but in a quietly strong way. Her eyes would shine as she spoke of you and her voice would soften as she told me about you. I know that in all of her life raising her two boys was always what she would consider to be her greatest accomplishment. She adored her daughters-in-law and many conversations with her revolved around them and what they meant to her sons, grandchildren, and to her. In her eyes, her three grandchildren did indeed make the world turn! She told me so many wonderful stories of the times that she spent with them and her love for them was boundless. She was an amazing friend, fiercely loyal, always willing to share a joke, and always there to lend an ear or be a sounding board. She was also a no nonsense gal! She went through some really hard circumstances in her life and yet, I never felt that she took a moment to feel sorry for herself! It was always "pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get on with life!". I truly loved her for who she was and the kind of person she was. Her faith was so strong and it was something that we shared. We had so many talks about religion, politics, family, and strength. We may not always have agreed on every subject, but we did always agree on our love for each other. She was and is one of the greatest blessings in my life and I shall miss her and her phone calls. She was a quick wit with a devilish side that she softened with a smile. Linda, I will love you forever, yours Cookie. I will see you on the other side!
