Obituary for Linda A. Redmaster

Linda A. Redmaster, 70, of Fort Wayne, went Home to the Lord on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born to the late Melvin and Patricia (Sullivan) Wetterlin in St. Paul, MN on September 7, 1952. Linda graduated from North Central High School in 1970 and Indiana University in 1974. Her first teaching job was in Kuwait from 1976 to 1977. She married William Redmaster on February 4, 1977 in Kuwait. She then taught French in Alexandra, Egypt. William and Linda then moved to Charleston, WV where she taught at the University of Charleston and got her Master’s in Art at West Virginia State University. In 1985 they moved to Fort Wayne, IN and she taught elementary school at Lindley, Bloomingdale, and Washington Elementary. She then went onto Portage Middle School and then retired from Lane Middle School in 2012. Linda was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. She was considerate, kind, caring and was willing to help anyone in need. She was passionate about birds, wildlife and the arts. Linda was a great wife, mother and mamaw.

Linda is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Redmaster; sons, David (Kerry) Redmaster and John (Crystal) Redmaster; grandchildren, Ella, Nolan, and Weston; siblings, Scott (Sue) Wetterlin, Susie (Dr. Ralph) Henry, Jeff (Tracey) Wetterlin, and Gary Wetterlin, and; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Trinity English Lutheran Church (450 W Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Arts United Center (303 E. Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802).
