Leilani “Lonnie” (Page) Wilson, 83, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. She was born in Fairmont, Minnesota to the late Nelson Alexander Page and Irene Stark Page on Sept. 5th, 1939. She lost her father at the age of 5, and moved to Des Moines, Iowa. She had 2 siblings Virginia Gilligan, and Bob Gilligan at home, and she had a sister Joan Page living in Minnesota. She loved animals and cared for many growing up with her mother and grandmother. She was valedictorian of Van Meter High School in 1959, and worked as a bookkeeper in Des Moines, Iowa after her high school graduation. She married Harold Dean Wilson of Grayson County, Virginia in December of 1959. She lived in Wiesbaden, Germany for two years while Dean was in the Air Force. Her first daughter Deanna was born in Germany in 1961. She lived in Fairborn, Ohio and State College, Pennsylvania, where her second daughter Renata was born in 1963. Leilani worked several years at Penn State University. They later moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana when her husband was transferred. Leilani worked at Allen County Motors as a bookkeeper, and Smith Petroleum where she became office manager. She worked at Petroleum Traders until her retirement at age 70. She loved to travel and went to Europe, Russia, Hawaii, and many other destinations in the US. She was a devoted supporter of the ASPCA, Alzheimer’s Assoc. and various veteran organizations. She is survived by her daughters Deanna (Themis) Gountras, and Renata (David) Deerwester, her grandchildren Alex (Katie) Gountras, Andrea (Ryan Gable) Baldwin, and Anna (Alex) Milentis, and great grandchildren Haydn, Dalton, Tabitha, Apollo, Niko, and Andreas. Leilani was preceded in death by her 3 siblings. Service is 6 pm, Friday, September 16, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street with calling from 4 pm until the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Humane Fort Wayne.
