Kathryn “Kathy” K. James, 75, of Larwill and formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Kathy was born to the late Floyd and Phoebe Swathwood. She was a graduate of South Side High School. Kathy’s first job was at General Telephone as an operator. In 1969 she married David James. Kathy then went on to work at T.J.Nowak, she was also the manager of Party On Party Store. For 5 years she was the window decorator at the Embassy Theater in downtown Fort Wayne. Kathy was the co-owner with her husband David of Corner House Ceramics, and Corner House Antiques in Columbia City. Her memberships include The Fort Wayne Doll Club, and United Doll Club.
Kathy is survived by her husband, David; sisters, Marcia (John) Needler, Avinell “Abby” Galloway; David’s siblings, Eugene (Linda) James, Patty James, Pauline (Duane) Maas, John (Marie) James Jr, Kurt (Tina) James, many nieces and nephews whom Kathy loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by sister, Mary (Jim) Fatzinger.
Funeral Service will take place on Sunday, January 29th 2023 at 2 pm with calling 1 hour prior, calling also on Saturday January 28th, from 2pm -6pm all at FairHaven Funeral Home 6557 N. Clinton St. Fort Wayne, IN 46825. Private burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials may be directed to “Easter Seals ARC” or donor’s choice.
