Obituary for Kathleen Sue Myers (Stuckey)

Kathleen Sue (Stuckey) Myers, 68, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born on July 19, 1953, in Fort Wayne, Indiana Kathleen was a daughter of the late Clayton Stuckey and Arlene (Yoder) Stuckey who survives. Kathy faithfully followed her husband to Philadelphia nine years ago for a job and to share supporting roles in a youth theater/mentoring program directed by Ben and Felicita. Her love for children was evidenced in both the encouragement she brought and the arts she encouraged. She was the cheer leader, not fully aware of the impact she was making. Her involvement in developing children has spans a lifetime. From teaching her children and being their Prayer Warrior, to investing in the lives of youth on Sunday or during Vacation Bible Schools, she embraced the task. She was fun, funny and exuberant. The kids loved her. She ignited a hunger for reading in her children and her grandchildren. And she loved cheering them on, whether athletically or just about any achievement that was important to them. She loved her Leo Lions. She has many endearing and enduring friendships. She excelled in sending cards and notes of encouragement. Hospitality was one of her many passions. It didn’t hurt that that girl could cook. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Douglas Myers of Upper Darby, PA. She was blessed with three children: Rachel (Nam) Nguyen of Davenport, IA; Benjamin (Felicita) Myers of Upper Darby, PA; and Jonathan (Amanda) Myers of Upper Sandusky, OH. She delighted in her fourteen grandchildren: Samantha and Joseph Nguyen; Adam and Lauren Bond; Mara and Jaden Nguyen; Isabella, Isaiah, Josiah, Nathan, Ezekiel, Malachi, Eliyanah, and Jeremiah Myers; and her two great-grandchildren Kayleena and Bellamy Nguyen. Kathleen was preceded in death by numerous aunts and uncles; one premature child; and her birth mother and father. Service is 11 am, Friday, January 28, 2022 Leo United Methodist Church, 13527 Leo Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedarville Community Church or www.actors.bible/donate. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements. Her life was full, but Jesus had a better plan for her. Gone too soon.
