Karen Sue Skelton, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Born in Logansport, Indiana, Karen was a daughter of the late Robert and Geneva Hammontree. She earned her bachelors degree in education from Ball State University and her masters degree in education from Indiana University. Karen was an elementary education teacher for several years and ran Faith Baptist Church pre-school program for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, crafting, supporting her children in their endeavors and rooting on the Indiana Hoosiers. Surviving are her children, Terah Brogan, Marc Skelton; sisters, Ednamae Bowman, Lynda (Bill) Warner, Sandy (Roger) Spencer; and her precious cat, PeeWee. Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dave and siblings, Roberta Porter and Chuck Hammontree. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be 3 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 12 pm until the service.
