JOYCE ANN GLOCK, 84, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Joyce was born to the late Clarence and Elizabeth Sharpe in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from North Side High School class of 1956, was the North Side Relay Queen and member of the Ripplettes & Chansonettes. Joyce attended Earlham College for one year before transferring to Parkview School of Nursing and finished her degree at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis, where she graduated top of her class. In 1958, Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Dr. Steven Glock. Joyce also holds an A.S.I.D. degree in interior design from IPFW. Joyce was warm, loving, kind, and generous. She loved music, being a mom, and taking care of others. Joyce changed the way we view and treat mental illness in our community. She was instrumental in the formation of the Fort Wayne Carriage House where she served on the board of directors. Joyce was a member of Psi lota Xi Sorority, the Allen County Mental Health Association, Allen County Medical Auxiliary, Aboite Lutheran Alliance for the Mentally Ill, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI), was the recipient of the National Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service in Washington, D.C., and was recognized as a YWCA "Outstanding Woman of Achievement". Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Steven; daughter, Brenda (Scott) Gerber Vincent; son, Jeff (Deb) Glock; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chad Glock. Funeral service for Joyce is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at FairHaven Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be directed to The Carriage House. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
