Obituary for John Patrick Angel

John Patrick Angel, 79, passed away on November 29, 2022, from medical complications at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. John was born in Fort Wayne to the late Thomas Edward Jr. and Katherine Neda (Kavanaugh) Angel on November 27, 1943. Former grade school student of Most Precious Blood Catholic School, John graduated from Northside High School in Fort Wayne class of 1961. He entered the Marine Corps after graduation and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October, 1962. After his 2 years in the Marines, John moved to California but returned to Fort Wayne. After various local moves, he moved to Texas with young son Gene Paul, and met his soul-mate, Linda (Carver) Angel. The two were married at their Hamilton, IN, backyard on July 7, 2007. John has been a small business owner and an employee of Joslyn Steel; but is most remembered as a talented computer programmer for HBS Systems in Richardson, TX, from 1995 to retirement in 2013 in Hamilton, Tri-Lakes and Angola. The proud father of his children, Paula (Sam) Jarjour, Gene (Hayley) Angel; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Rose Matherly; Kenneth (Cynthia) Angel; sister-in laws, Linda Angel and Sherri Angel. John was preceded in death by his daughters, Erin Elizabeth Leshore Fuller, Lisa Joanne Frye, brothers, Joseph and Steven Angel. John was a devout Christian and his family takes comfort in knowing he is at peace with Christ. Friends and family will be welcomed to celebrate John’s life on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 11 am to 2 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street. Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews or World Vision.
