Jerry Dan McCammon, age 90, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Towne House Retirement Community. He was born in Sullivan, IN on June 14 ,1931 to the late Harold and Trelma Thomas McCammon. Jerry attended Indiana State University where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Jerry worked his career as a teacher and principal with Fort Wayne Community Schools. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church of Fort Wayne. Jerry will be remembered as a prolific writer, creating his own greeting cards. He also enjoyed cooking, volunteering with Northeast Indiana Radio Reading and most of all, spending time with his family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Diane Rusk McCammon; daughters, Amy (Marvin) Clamme of New Knoxville, OH, and Kelly (Adam) Scovanner of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Matthew (Amy Knight Johnson) Clamme, Jonathan (fiance, Morgan Scott) Clamme, and Zoe Clark; two great-grandsons, Owen and Benjamin; foster son, Rick Nemyer; niece, Janis Lamb; and nephew, Scott Biddle. He was also preceded in death by sister, Beverly Biddle. Service is 11:00 am, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N.
