Jerome “Jerry” E. Coil, 84, of Fort Wayne, Ind. passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Jerry was born to the late Arthur and Mabel Coil in St Mary’s, OH. He served in the Army Reserves. Jerry was employed at International Harvester which became Navistar. He retired after 30 years of service. Jerry was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He volunteered at Cross Border Partners. Jerry was first and foremost a man who loved his family. Some of his other interests were following and cheering for The Ohio State sports programs, and playing euchre.
Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Mary Coil; children, Brian (Stephanie) Coil, Steve (Julie) Coil, Amy (Jerry) Mick; grandchildren, Jared (Stephanie) Coil, Abbianne (Brent) Wolfzorn, Cassidy Coil, Kennidy Coil, Kaden Coil, Corrine Coil, Tyler Coil, Kathryn Mick, Jack Mick, Henry Mick, Bridget Mick; great grandsons, Oliver Coil and Collson Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne Coil and Ron Coil.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave. at 11:00 am with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also take place on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. In lieu of flowers preferred memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Worship Anew.
