James Francis “Jim” McNutt Jr., 76, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Born in Fort Wayne, Jim was a son of the late James Sr. and Elisa (Jeffrey) McNutt. Jim graduated from Kendallville High School. Following High School graduation, Jim joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. During his working years, Jim worked at Dana for 30 years, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Post #82. Each morning Jim would go out to breakfast. He loved going to gun shows, being out on the boat, fishing, and hanging out with his family and friends. Family was the most important and he enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their school activities. Surviving are his children, Lisa (Jim) Babyak, Scott McNutt, Amy McNutt; grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam; brother, David (Susan) McNutt; nieces, Tammy Hartman and Jodie Hanchar. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Tia McNutt. Service is 11 am Monday, August 22, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2 pm to 6 pm. Burial in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
