Jack L Godfrey. 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday Dec 30th due to complications from Covid-19. He retired from BF Goodrich in 2010 after 42 years of service.
Everybody loved Jack! He enjoyed family, friends, golf and the Yankees. His passions included coaching his own children in sports, and following his grandchildren’s interests and activities. Jack was ever so proud of his “Red Truck” he won in 1990 from BF Goodrich. He also was passionate and competitive with games, cards and golf. Jack was blessed with 10 years of retirement, that he was able to spend with his faithfully loving wife. He will be missed by everyone who was privileged to know him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 52 ½ years, Sharon; daughter, Jennifer L. (Dan Butler) Glaze; son, Joshua L. (Amie) Godfrey; grandchildren, Tanner (Ashley), Logan, and Braeden Glaze; Riley, and Olivia Godfrey; siblings, Larry, Philip, and Doug Godfrey; and sister Coleen Bonahoom. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Aldrous and Marjorie Godfrey; son, Jeremy Alan Godfrey; and brother, A. Ronald Godfrey. A private memorial service will take place on Thursday January 7th at 2:00 pm. Due to Covid-19, family and friends are invited to join the memorial for Jack virtually by going to the FairHaven Funeral Home Facebook page at 1:50 pm and watching the Live stream. Preferred memorials in Jack’s honor may be directed to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

For those of you old enough to remember a local TV show called "Dance Date" might have caught Jack and I dancing. We were just kids. Jack loved my peanut butter cookies. He would hide them in the freezer from family and friends. He was like a protective , supportive brother. He was the best. Linda Freese
