Helen A. Ward, age 93, of Fort Wayne passed away June 18, 2023 at St. Anne Home. She was born in Muskegon, MI to the late, Frank and Anne Stariha. Helen worked at Parkview for 15 years as a registered nurse and also served as a teaching instructor for the Parkview Methodist School of Nursing. More recently she worked at several local nursing homes. Helen was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, Daniel (Barb) Ward, David (Julie) Ward, Dale (Lily) Ward, Wendy (Mike) Johnson, Thomas (Carla Elliot) Ward, and Philip (Jan) Ward; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jim (Jane Ruiter) Stariha; and sister, Mary Ellen (Fred) Schulte. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell L. Ward; and her brother, Frank Stariha Jr. and sister, Janet Tompkins. Mass of Christian Burial is 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd. with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with a Rosary service at 7:45 pm.
