Obituary for Evelyn Eve Scarpa (Vargas)

Evelyn Eve “Nina” Scarpa, age 69, of Fort Wayne, IN went to be with her Creator on Sunday August 14, 2022. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born October 31, 1953, In San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, to Ernesto and Primitiva Vargas. Evelyn was an AMAZING woman. There aren’t enough words to describe her. She was a devout Christian, a selfless caregiver, a phenomenal cook, a lover of chickens, turkey’s, turtles, duck’s, she was a fantastic mother and grandmother. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. She lived a very full life and was very active in the Spanish community. Children seemed to gravitate to her naturally. In 2003, she went on to open “Ms.Eve’s Daycare on Paulding rd. She loved spending her time with family, friends and raising her own children while caring for countless adopted/fostered children over the years and it was her calling. She touched many lives. She was a firecracker and had all of the sass to back it up. Beautiful, courageous, bold, smart, selfless, a Wonder Woman…just a few words to describe how great of a person she was. She was known as “El Ángel de Fort Wayne”. There will never be another like her, and she will be deeply missed by everyone.
