Obituary for Ernest Kerry Mack

Ernest Mack, born on August 27, 1963, in Clarendon, South Carolina, was more than a collection of dates and places; he was a cherished son, devoted husband, loving father, and cherished member of his community.
The son of Freddie Mack and Mary (Burgess) Mack, and brother to Stephanie and Gordon Mack (Debbie), Ernest's life was marked by love and family. For 31 years, he shared a deep bond with his beloved wife, Shannon Marie (Jannings) Mack, and together they nurtured their two beautiful children, Austin Kerry Mack (Joye) and Alyse Keri Mack. He was also the father of Dominic Mack.
Ernest's journey was defined by service and dedication. As a proud veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps with distinction, from February 15, 1986, to April 9, 1995, rising to the rank of Sergeant E5. For over nine years, he specialized as an aviation supply clerk before dedicating three years to recruiting, leaving an indelible mark on his military community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Ernest found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was taking long nature walks, staying active through exercise, or delving into the pages of his extensive book collection, his enthusiasm was contagious. Yet, above all, Ernest's heart belonged to his faith. A devout follower of Jesus Christ, he devoted his time to studying the Bible and serving as an active member of the usher board at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where his presence was felt for over five years.
Ernest's passion for life knew no bounds. His infectious positivity and willingness to lend a helping hand left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His greatest joy came with the arrival of his granddaughter, Alayah Joye Mack, whom he adored beyond measure.
As we reflect on Ernest's life, we are reminded of his unwavering commitment to his beliefs and the legacy of faith, love, and dedication he leaves behind. Though he may have departed from this world, his memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and community. Service's for Ernest will be 12 noon, on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist, 3506 Warsaw Street, with calling from 10 am until the services.
