Ellen Elizabeth Kenchanh, 57, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne, IN. Born on Jan. 12, 1964 in Vientiane, Laos, she was the daughter of Vang and Sai (Sou) Somsavath. In 1975, the family moved to Thailand to escape communism. Ellen immigrated to Fort Wayne in July 1976, where her family was sponsored by Bethlehem Lutheran Church to come to the United States as refugees at the age of 12. She graduated from South Side High School in 1984, and went on to become a hair stylist after graduating from Four Winds Hair Academy of Fort Wayne. Ellen went on to become the owner of Hair Gallery LTD since 2004. Ellen was extremely kind and generous, always very inviting and made everyone feel like family. She loved to cook and share her food. Ellen was the life of the party, full of spunk and wit, and she had enough love to overfill the hearts of all who knew her. She loved fashion, and always had the most beautiful hair. She is loved and missed by many and in the words of Ellen don't forget "You're my favorite!". Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her husband Kham; son, Brandon Kenchanh; daughter, Alexa Kenchanh; sister Janis (Mark) Lam; brother, Lee (Kanitha) Somsavath; and 6 nieces and nephews; and 9 cousins. She was preceded in death by her Father Vang (Sai) Somsavath. Service is 3pm, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N.
