David C. Foster Sr, 61, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away Friday March 26th, 2021. He was born in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Dock and Mildred Foster. Dave proudly served in the United States Army for twenty-one years during the Bosnian/Croatian and Dessert Storms wars. One of the military assignments led Dave, Angie and family to Fort Wayne, IN where he spent three years as an Army Recruiter. Upon receiving new orders to leave Fort Wayne, IN; God gave Dave and Angie the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 and the family to Germany. In 1999 Dave retired from the Army and the family was led back to Fort Wayne, IN where he began his career as an Allstate Insurance Agent. Dave loved serving his community and customers always giving his best! Most recently Dave was able to enjoy working as a courier for Crossroads Courier Service. There were no other calls that he enjoyed more than to receive the calls from the Red Cross, as due to the many military assignments he was unable to be a blood donor. David lived his life under the creed "No one is more professional than I" and he lived that to the full extent whether it be while on the battlefield with his soldiers, to providing the best policy rate to his customers, to delivering a screwdriver or blood to a patient in need. Anyone that knew Dave knew that he was a true Alabama fan who would even watch old games and still have the same excitement as if the game was live. Dave accepted Christ in his life in 1993 at Greater Progressive Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Ternae T. Jordan Sr. He would later return and serve as the head trustee for eight years and serve as a Deacon for eight years under the guidance of Pastor Anthony R. Pettus. Dave's true passion was being a family man and he dedicated his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. Dave lived his life to serve the Lord and be a faithful servant. Dave is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Angie Foster of Fort Wayne, children, Franchesca (Keith) Alford of Dayton, OH, DeNisha (Raymond) Stewart of Indianapolis, IN, and David Foster Jr of Fort Wayne, IN; four grandchildren, Douglas, Franchesca, Imani, and Ameyah; siblings, Steve (Jeanette) Foster of Desoto, TX, Melba Foster of Tuscaloosa, AL, Dwight (Grace) Foster of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Fred (Cynthia) Harris Jr. of South Bend, IN and nieces and nephew. He is also preceded in death by his sister Dottie Carter and best friend Aaron Williams of 40 years. Service is 12:00pm, Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at Greater Progressive Baptist Church 2215 John St with calling two hours prior. Calling also 3:00pm-8:00pm, Friday April 9th, 2021 at Fairhaven Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. Burial at the Marion National Cemetery of Marion, IN.
