David G. Childers, age 80, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his home in Fort Wayne. He was born in Houston, TX to the late Richard and Audie Lee Childers. David graduated from TCU where he played baseball. He was an advertising executive for 25 years and most recently, after moving to Fort Wayne, he worked in management assisting the family business, Sunrise Express until retirement. David attended Grabill Missionary Church, and will be remembered as a man with strong faith and a deep devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia Childers of Fort Wayne; children, Christopher (Ashley) Childers of Leo, IN, Matthew (Carmen) Childers West Palm Beach, FL, and Jeannie (Paul) McCarthy of New Salisbury, IN; 5 grandchildren, Jamie (Robert), Amy, Gavin, Grier, and Ainsley; 3 great-grandchildren, Carson, Meredith, and Zoey; and his brother, Paul Childers of Vancouver, WA. Service is 12:00 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling two hours prior beginning at 10:00 am.
