Obituary for Daniel James Kammer

Daniel J. Kammer passed away on March 25th, 2023, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was born September 15th, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Daniel, known as Danny or Dan to those who loved him, was a loved family member, loyal friend, and compassionate human being. He traveled extensively and lived around the world including in California, Michigan, and Brazil. He was a fabulous bartender, creative interior designer, and brilliant entrepreneur.

He was married to Michael Johnson for over 10 years. In that time they created a beautiful life together, full of adventure, love, and humor. Michael passed away in 2019. May they be together again, “At Last”.

His joy for life was matched only by his deep love for his friends and family. He made people feel seen, loved, and understood. He was selfless, funny, and had a way of making friends wherever he went. Even when faced with injustice and pain throughout his life, Daniel stayed true to who he was, and made sure to treat everyone with kindness and respect. His fierce devotion to those he loved, all animals, and nature were innate parts of his being. He loved to garden and made sure to leave the earth a little bit more beautiful, wherever he went.

He leaves behind his father, Don Kammer, siblings David Kammer, Richard Kammer, Ken Kammer (Peggy), Nancy Naddi (Sami), Lisa Goff (Bill), many nieces and nephews, and friends around the world; all whom will forever feel his absence, but will keep him in their hearts forever. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Sol and Lua, who were the lights of his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Kammer, sister Ann Barrett, and brother Stephen Kammer (Cher).
