Cynthia Louise Baughman, age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fort Wayne, to the late James Herstad and Mary Calhoun, who survives. Cyndi worked as a teacher, beginning her career in Des Moines, IA and Carroll, IA in the Catholic Schools and more recently at Bloomingdale Elementary of Fort Wayne, which she attended as a child. She enjoyed traveling especially her time at Topsail Island, NC, but most of all she loved time with her grandchildren. She was most known for her strength and perseverance through her life challenges. Cyndi is survived by her husband of 40 years, Tom Baughman of Fort Wayne; daughters, Amy (Adam) Averkamp of Fort Wayne and Alyson (Josh) Gerlach of Bondurant, IA; two grandchildren, Raya and Charlotte Averkamp; siblings, Daniel (Joyce) Herstad of Fort Wayne, Michael (Tammy) Herstad of Bartlett, IL, Peggy (Ed) Bransfield of Fort Wayne, and Christine (Jeff)Tipton of Fort Wayne and step-mother, Judith Herstad of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her half-brothers, Randall Herstad and James Herstad Jr. A service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with calling one hour prior. Calling also 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
