I am so sad to hear the news of Connie’s passing. We were neighbors for nearly 20 years, but she was much more than that to me. I will miss our late night phone chats and her warm smile. She will be missed! My condolences to her family. Rest In Peace, dear friend! Barbara Pettit

Connie and I grew up next door to each other. We went to the same schools and graduated from North Side in 1954. Until covid we always met once a month for lunch. I'll truly miss my life long friend. Emily Hines

Connie was the best principal that I had the pleasure of working for. She was very caring about her employees and their families as well as the progress of the students. She would have made an excellent trainer of principals. May her family be comforted by memories of her contributions to education. Former teacher-Vera Scruggs/Drew

Sad to learn of Connie's passing. She was my very first principal at Abbett many years ago. She was so kind and a great mentor to me. She challenged me but along the way never hesitated to tell me I could do it. I was very fortunate to begin my career with her and she made the whole staff feel like family. I was delighted to see her again a few years ago at a lake get together with Abbett alums and she sat and talked to me about education for quite awhile. Her kindness was so sincere! She will be greatly missed. My sympathies to your family.

So sorry to learn of Connie's passing. She was truly one of God's angels on Earth. I was blessed to teach under her for most of my career. She made all our staff better because of her leadership and modeling how we should react to each and every situation. Our staff had a togetherness and helpfulness that was contagious to others because of her. Connie was a friend to all. Her smile was a highlight of a difficult day. She will be missed. A truly wonderful person.
