Connie Jo Helmuth, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Thursday, April 28, 2022. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Connie was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Eleanor Bailey. Connie graduated from Leo High School and attended Goshen College. After school she worked for Brotherhood Mutual. Connie and her husband Leland moved to Colorado for several years where they enjoyed motorcycle rides in the mountains. Connie was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother to her family. She enjoyed vacationing with her family, cooking huge meals for family gatherings, mowing her yard, gardening, and drawing. In more recent years, Connie and her husband enjoyed traveling, eating out, and “Jeeping” with her friends. She loved watching and supporting her children and grandchildren’s sporting events. But most of all, she loved Jesus as was exhibited by her tender, sensitive heart. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Leland Helmuth; children, Kristi (Matt) Leininger, Jeremy (Amy) Helmuth, Kari (Jeff) Wike, Heidi (Ryan) Lough; grandchildren, Seth, Lily, Noah, Sadie, Ellie, Caleb, Elena, Jude, Charlotte, Aubrey, Anna, Austin, Makayla; and her brother, Duane (Rhoda) Bailey. Service is 11 am, Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Central Ministries, 5801 Schwartz Rd, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the church on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm. Burial in Leo Memorial Cemetery, Leo, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Central Ministries or The Center for Whitley County Youth.
