Cheryl Lynn Taylor Butler, age 58, of Fairmount, IN went to her reward in heaven on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Portsmouth, OH to the late Virgil and Dolores Meadows. Cheryl was a graduate of Portsmouth High School and later obtained her Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Marshall University. She worked as a legal aide and secretary, later she worked child protective services, and after moving to Indiana she worked for the Welfare Department in the FSSA. Cheryl was an active member of NAMI, and loved spending time with her puppies, Scarlette, Punkin, and Tootsie. She is survived by her husband, Barney Butler of Fairmount, IN; daughter, Shellyn Taylor of Savannah, GA; and her grandson, Cayden; dear friends, Janie Thurmon, Tim and Tammy Crooks, Charlene Turner and Dawn Hair, along with several other she cherished dearly. Cherl was also preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor. A Celebration of Life is 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on January 14, 2023 at the Park Shelter house in Fairmount, IN.
